What social,
political and economic factors shaped Mexico in the 20th
century?
The 2002 CLAS
summer institute for teachers will provide an overview of the
economic, political, and social developments that transformed
Mexico in the 20th century. To analyze political relations
and the social-historical contexts of revolutionary and post
revolutionary societies, participants and presenters will examine
primary sources, including letters, wanted posters, newspaper
articles, and Posada drawings.
The institute
is free and open to all interested educators. Enrollment is
limited to 30. The Institute meets from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
on Wednesday and Thursday, July 24-25, 2002.
