With Diego Rivera, six degrees of separation can easily take you from Picasso to Stalin, from Cárdenas to Rockefeller. He was a man at the center of a tumultuous era in Mexican art and politics. In this workshop we will take a closer look at post-revolutionary Mexico through the lives of a few of the people who intersected with Rivera: Lázaro Cárdenas, Tina Modotti, Frida Kahlo and Leon Trotsky.
Speakers include: Alex Saragoza, UC Berkeley; John Zarobell, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Bertrand Patenaude, Stanford University; Patricia Albers, San Francisco State University; and Will Maynez, City College of San Francisco.
