Director and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer David Turnley answered questions after the screening of his documentary "Shenandoah" in conversation with Maria Echaveste, the Politics and Program Development Director at the Warren Institute on Law and Social Policy, and Harley Shaiken, professor and chair of the Center for Latin American Studies. The film examines the town of Shenandoah, and its reaction to the murder of an undocumented Mexican immigrant by members of the high school football team.

On April 25, author Isabel Allende spoke with Berkeley professor Beatriz Manz about her new novel, Maya's Notebook, the story of a troubled young woman sent from the U.S. to the remote island of Chiloe in southern Chile to reclaim her life.
