Event Description

Chilean architects have to adapt their buildings to withstand the demands of nature, which in Chile range from earthquakes to rugged terrain to climatic extremes. This symposium will examine how some of the country’s leading architects have handled the extraordinary conditions that give Chile its unique beauty.

Speakers

Óscar Mackenney is a practicing architect and the vice dean of the School of Architecture at the Universidad del Desarrollo. 

Pablo Allard is principal partner at Urbanica architecture and the dean of the School of Architecture at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago and Concepción. 

Claudia Oñate is a practicing architect and teaches at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago de Chile. 

Pablo Altikes is director of the School of Architecture at the Universidad del Desarollo, Concepción.

Xaviera Gleixner is a professor in the School of Architecture at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago.
