What does the U.S. presidential election mean for Latin America? Harley Shaiken, Maria Echaveste and Paul Pierson will lead a discussion of the outcome and its impact throughout the hemisphere.

Speakers

Harley Shaiken is the Class of 1930 professor of Letters and Science in the Departments of Geography and Education and the chair of the Center for Latin American Studies at UC Berkeley.

Maria Echaveste is a leading analyst on immigration issues who served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Clinton White House from 1998-2001. She is currently a Senior Scholar at the Center for Latin American Studies.  

Paul Pierson is the John Gross Professor of Political Science at UC Berkeley.  His most recent book, with Jacob Hacker, is American Amnesia: How the War on Government Led Us to Forget What Made America Prosper.
