Democratic Chile

Event Description

How was Chile transformed during the two decades of center-left government that followed the country’s return to democracy in 1990? And were the coalition’s policies in fact substantially different from those that preceded them? Kirsten Sehnbruch will discuss the Concertación’s successes and failures in post-Pinochet Chile.

Speaker

Kirsten Sehnbruch is a professor of Economics at the University of Chile and the director of the Centre for New Development Thinking.
