Event Description
#DesendeudadasNosQueremos was a protest held in front of Argentina’s Central Bank in June 2017, organized by the collective NiUnaMenos. With this action as a starting point, Lucia Cavallero will discuss how members of the feminist movement conceptualize debt and its connection with women. She will present a redefinition of the relationship between the domestic economy and violence, tracing how debt has been politicized by the human rights movement, and in particular, the International Feminist Strike of March 2018.

Lucía Cavallero is a sociologist and researcher at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and a member of the feminist collective NiUnaMenos. Her research focuses on areas of conflict and social change.
