Event Description
The Latin American Art and Literature Group, in partnership with CLAS, invites you to participate in an interactive workshop to promote the Quechua language. The workshop is open to UC Berkeley students and community members from the greater Bay Area. Everyone is welcome: educators, children, scholars, activists, and enthusiasts. No previous knowledge of Quechua is necessary.
Speakers
The workshop will be facilitated by Florencia Orlandoni and Marial Quezada.
Florencia Orlandoni studied Quechua through the Columbia-NYU consortium with Professor Odi Gonzales. She holds a BA in Spanish Literature from UC San Diego, a Masters in Latin American Studies from Columbia University, and is currently working towards her MFA in nonfiction at Saint Mary’s College of California.
Marial Quezada studied Indigenous People’s Rights at Columbia University, where she also studied Quechua with Professor Odi Gonzales.
