Digital gender violence is a phenomenon that is increasingly prevalent in social media and presents a challenge to governments to take firm action against it. Defamation campaigns, fake news, and the circulation of deep-fake videos containing sexual content or impersonations have damaged politicians’ reputations and disqualified them from politics.
