Event Description
Sexually transmitted infections, adolescent pregnancy, and substance use are common among Latino youth, particularly those from low socioeconomic status backgrounds. Puberty represents an important developmental window for understanding risk. Dr. Deardorff will describe collaborations across two longitudinal studies of youth in the U.S. and in Chile.Speaker
Julianna Deardorff is an associate professor at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health, where she focuses on pubertal development and sexual behaviors among Latino youth.
