Brazilian Fulbright Visiting Scholar Nabil Bonduki shares his experiences with housing policy and urban planning, in academia and in the government of São Paulo. He will speak on affordable housing policies and the City of São Paulo’s Master Plans (2002 and 2014).

Speakers

Nabil Bonduki is a Professor of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and was elected to the City Council from 2001-2004 and 2013-2016. He is the author and rapporteur of two Master Plans for São Paulo, in 2002 and in 2014.

Carter Koppelman is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology. His research focuses on how states use developmental and social policies to manage the urban poor, and how those policies are understood, used, and contested in citizens' everyday lives.
