Tinker Field Research Grant Competition: Information Session

Informative Session

November 16, 2021

Event Description

CLAS Vice Chair Julia Byrd will lead an information session about the CLAS Field Research Grant Program.

Field Research Grants provide graduate students with support for travel and field-related expenses for brief periods of pre-dissertation field research in Latin America, defined here as the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of the region. For more information, including eligibility and grant guidelines, see the CLAS website.

The Field Research Grant Program is generously funded by the Tinker Foundation, with matching funds from the Center for Latin American Studies.

Curious to hear about student experiences in the field? The Tinker Field Research Collaborative, a group of universities with Tinker Field Research funding, has produced a podcast to highlight Tinker student research and experiences. Listen to the first episode of the podcast here.

Speaker

Julia Byrd is the Vice Chair at the UC Berkeley Center for Latin American Studies.
