Approaching afterlives of trauma through ordinary memory art in contemporary Peru

My research project considers the relationship between art and memory in contemporary Peru and builds on past ethnographic and archival research in Ayacucho and Lima. I interviewed a number of artists, architects, academics, and human rights leaders, and also attended several exhibits and conferences related to the themes of my project. My research findings will contribute to my long term fieldwork and ultimately to my dissertation.
